I wasn’t sure I could make it in time for the arrival in Lincoln of the Olympic Torch Relay this evening, but I managed to complete one of my regular commercial assignments early enough to get home, change and head into Lincoln city centre.
Given the traffic movement and parking restrictions, I abandoned the car in Canwick and walked to the Brayford Pool. Sure was glad not to be carting my pro cameras and lens ( just my trusty Canon G12 compact camera) as it was very hot and I was covering a lot of ground very quickly to make sure I had plenty of time to indulge in a spot of street photography before the Olympic Torch Relay Team arrived. I chose the the Brayford Pool area, because street entertainment had been laid on – sure beats photographing people leaning against barriers looking totally bored!
Later, I moved to the Stonebow area, before running up Steep Hill(nearly all the way) to catch the procession passing Newport Arch.
Here’s a few shots.
